Japan’s consumption tax increase disputed
The New York Times reports today on the proposed staggered increase of consumption tax, which is to be doubled to 10% by 2015. A sizable faction of the governing Democratic Party resigned in opposition to the tax increase, which leaves the Party with a minimal majority in parliament.
